Men at work

Male bonding can take many forms, including the mutual fascination with power tools, it would appear. My boyfriend's carpentry skills echo those of my Dad, so there was no way my parents' visit would be complete without lots of hammering and use of the object in this picture - a belt sander, apparently. I picked it up from a distribution warehouse in the back end of Bellshill a couple of weeks ago and since then it's been used to make the massive workbench in view behind the Men at Work, and also the sledge leaning against the wall. We tried that out the other day (as per the blip with my mum screaming) and it survived a trip down a steep icy hill at great speed with both Neil and I on it, a compelling testament to its sturdiness.
