Bramble Vodka

Well, it was lovely to wake up in my own bed this morning!

Most of the day has been at a fairly leisurely pace. The main task of the day was to wash/dry and pack again for tomorrow - therefore our matchbox of a house resembles a laundry - clothes everywhere!

I made some time to bake some blueberry muffins. An unusual recipe where the wet mixture is left to set for at least an hour, if not overnight! Needless to say my patience wasn't up for waiting overnight, so it had just over an hour in the fridge. The main excuse for baking was to use my new typhoon scales I got for Christmas as well as my new silicone moulds. I have never used silicone moulds before and they are a complete revelation! Amazing!!! No fuss, total ease and easy to clean - I am going to buy more bits and pieces made of this stuff, it's fantastic!!

Anyway, my blip today is of Stolychnya vodka which has been transformed into Bramble Vodka, which has given it this beautiful hue. It has been working away for about 3 months, getting turned once a week. I can vouch that there is little loss of alcohol, it's still got a fair kick! Today I used a bit of muslin before decanting it into the original bottle. The vodka will be coming with us for the New Year, a tasty wee dram for the bells perhaps!
