Little Italy
A few of days after Christmas Anna and I flew up to Boston, in part so I could attend a conference but also in part so we could just do a bit of sightseeing. Tonight we took the subway from the Back Bay area (where we are staying) to the North End so we could walk around Little Italy a bit. Our goal was to compare the cannoli from Mike's with those from Modern, so after some navigational help via cell-phone from my dad in Washington State, we bought one from each and consumed them side by side. The verdict? Modern wins by a long shot. Having had our dessert, we then figured we should have some dinner, so we found a brick-oven pizza place and enjoyed a couple of delicious pizzas.
Here I managed to catch a candid smile from my beautiful wife on the streets of Boston's Little Italy. I think she was in the middle of laughing at our friend Joshua Spencer, who explored Little Italy with us and was just in the middle of taking a picture of this tiny alley, when he said: "Hey, they should really call this place 'Little It-alley'." Don't worry: we rolled our eyes appropriately.
