The Yorkshire Chicken
Often thought to be a myth or extinct these pictures show that the Yorkshire Chicken is still breeding in parts of Yorkshire. It used to be the staple diet of all true Yorkshire folk and was usually eaten with Yorkshire Pudding but in today's modern world it is hard to cook in the oven or microwave. People think that the bird is tough but when cooked correctly it is similar to venison, the toughest thing about the bird is catching it!!!
What are your local foods that are disappearing in today's pre-packed world?
