First attempt to catch up with Christmas blipping, I didn't take too many shots but I have a few here waiting to be processed. This pic is of me with two of my oldest and bestest friends, Luce and John. We don't see much of each other, but make sure we meet up at least once a year at Christmas to catch up. This is one of the few pictures taken of me this Christmas where I'm properly, genuinely smiling, not just doing my mildly happy "photo face", so I love it. Nothing beats having a laugh with old friends!

Luce studied zoology at Glasgow University and is now doing a PhD on sea birds in Scotland, while John studied Physics at Oxford and currently works for the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. Each year we have a traditional punning competition where someone thinks of a theme and we have to make puns on it in turn, until it all descends into dodgy gag territory and we declare a winner. This year the theme was 'time' - very tricky one - and John won :)

Even though we don't see each other very often, when we meet up it's just like we've never been apart, no awkward silences like I've experienced with some old school friends! We just realised it's 10 years since we all went on a French exchange to Belgium together so we've hatched a plan to all meet up soon in Bruges, for old times sake! It might not happen, but we'll try :)
