A natural wonder
Geese migration. This was quite a small skein of geese but I have seen them pretty much covering the sky and making a terrific noise while doing so.
Some geese fly 5000 miles migrating every year and some flocks can number tens of thousands. Bar-headed geese fly over the Himalayan mountains during their migration at over 30, 000ft and temperatures down to -60 Farenheit.
The v-shape is the most economical way to fly and the goose at the point of the v will drop back for a rest and allow another goose to take its place.
It is not fully understood how they know where to go. Perhaps the female geese stop to ask for directions?
