Still Nervous
I was pretty desperate yesterday, work all day, the crickets on and I havent had the camera out so I bite the bullet and head over the road to sit, think and hopefully get my blip for the day. I have a long lens on with different ideas before I leave home and we all know that never works eh.
Yesterday my strange mind led me through the thought process of what the year had meant to me and how, if at all possible, I was going to capture that. Above all for me it has been a year of major upset and trauma and through it all Carol has been supporting me no questions asked. With the earthquake in mind I also developed a thought that it was the same for most people in Christchurch, a year of receiving and giving support to loved ones around us therefore......
I saw this couple out for a lovely evening wander on the glorious evening we had last night, hand in hand. In what, from the distance I was away, looked like a symbol of unity and support and I thought 'thats it' and captured this particular image. It wasnt till I got home and looked a little closer that I saw the looks on there faces and this for me summed up how we are all feeling at the moment. We are all looking round for both comfort and protection but equally so very nervous as to what could happen at any moment.
Sometimes an image just finds you and you are unaware of it at the time but it is just what you are looking for, I was lucky enough to find it today.
