Torched Earth
Up early for a food shop, recycling and allotment visit. The allotment is in a word of it's own, plenty of snow still except the compost heaps, really frosty and well silent.
Back home and the eco girls and I headed out for some shopping experiences, swift and efficient excercise and back home.
Eco sister is over from the Middle east so we organised to go on the torchlight procession. Well me and sister as the rest of the family not interested.
What a great wee event, loads of reasonable people. Very busy at the start and when all the torches lit it was very warm. The queue for torches too big so eco sister and I spotted and took up with Eco son's pal's family, thanks for the company and banter.
The procession started and slowly made our way to the Mound and the wider road led to faster progress and a great view of the flickering lights leading the way and following.
Took to the city centre and strolled to Calton Hill to see Vikings set fire to a longship, a wee bit music and fireworks to finish.
Next time take marshmallows to toast in the torch bins.
Pleasant walk home catching some of the city centre entertainment and meeting some friends on the way.
