For whom do you mourn?

The mourning doves - and we have plenty of them - act as a clean-up crew for all the leftover spilled birdseed the other critters don't want. Hey, whatever makes them happy and it all gets eaten leaving less of a mess. Some have gotten fairly tame or tolerant of me being nearby outside. The cats, however, don't get the same regard. We've had something like 21 or so doves at the same time.
