New Year's Honour

And Daphne deserves it! Following in her mother's footsteps running the village post office and shop, she also works hard tirelessly and diplomatically in our community helping others and doing the jobs where people tend to be backward in coming forward. A good friend to everyone and certainly worth her weight in gold. Here she is pointing out her name published in the list in today's newspaper.

Daphne was notified about her MBE in November and could not tell a soul - her husband and family were only told last night and are thrilled! Now she must find a smart hat and get ready for a trip up to London with her family to receive the award from the Queen.

Meanwhile N had to drive down to the dentist and will have a hefty bill to pay as a lot of work needs to be done. All next month seems to be taken up with dental appointments for us both. Let's hope it will all be worth it and we will be able to smile with confidence!
