Moorhen
Light still disappointing and a bit tight for time today so a quick trip to Bedford Park Lake. Despite the thaw there was still about two thirds covered with ice but hundreds of birds on the open water. There was a steady stream of people with bread and the birds were kept busy hoovering up the crumbs. Over one hundred Black Headed Gulls, and lots of Coots, Moorhens, Mallards (and crosses), and a Mute Swan family.
Not really happy with this and will be returning when the sun is shining!
