New Years Image of the Coromandel 6

This is an attempt at showing the beach over New Years. There is a lot of fireworks and flares sent up into the sky over the bay. It was a beautiful warm night and they reflected off the water which was amazing. Today, Boxing Day, is the big yacht racing in the harbour and we have the downwind marker bouy in the bay in front of our house, so they were racing down with Spinnakers up, towards us so that was huge festival of visual treats. The poorer of us, are out on the beaches making simple fun on the waters edge. I wanted to put this couple of people in the bottom of the picture, as they are very typical here- a grandmother in her 70s probably, playing in the waves with her 7 year old Grandson. A very Kiwi type of holiday day...
