Restraint?
A New Year and a great start - dancing our little socks (and under garments in the case of one friend) off until 3.30am.
Straight into the denner this morning. New Year can only mean the whole family together, steak pie and mair drink! Often a struggle for many, but another tradition that seems so important given dad's state of health. Traditions and routine are what keeps him right. Besides it wouldn't be New Year without someone appearing green at the table.
The pie was heralded a triumph thank goodness. My sister and neice provided the puddings once again. My boy showed all the restraint one should at the start of a new year. Start as you mean to go on. Ice cream sundae with strawberries, pineapple, jelly sweets, buttons, aero bubbles, raspberry and toffee sauce, scooshie cream and to round it off a nice drop of fizzy juice to make it into more of a float sundae. My girl did something similar. Why should I wonder when their father decided to skip the ice cream and just have a bowl full of buttons, bubbles and the odd strawberry for health, all eaten with a spoon. My dad had every pudding that was going and some.
A quick watch of the 2nd half of the New Year's Day derby left few of us delighted, more of us despondent. We rallied to Singstar and Just Dance.
I am certainly due a big pudding soon as I must have lost some weight in the last 24 hours during my Danceathon.
This is going to be a Good Year.
