Circus time

The first time I went to see the Talvisirkus (=Winter Circus) at the old cable factory must have been year 2000 because daughter A was two years old.
It's a modern circus with a story, they always have the elves as circus characters and I remember the pig doing some "porkbics" at least in 2001. They also usually bring in some visiting international artists and a great visiting band, too.

So it's been our Christmas tradition since 2000. Sort of. Because we've skipped some. Two expat years not in Finland and last year we just couldn't make ourselves book the tickets in time. It's become more and more popular so they're sold out this year, too. But this year we happily did it again, all six of us. I never go to see the traditional circus but the few times I've seen modern circus I'm always thrilled.

As you are obviously not allowed to take pics during the show, this is a pic of a concrete wall in their cafe, where the two dancing pigs were reflected.

Also finally took some time to see a retrospective of a spectacular Finnish photographer Pentti Sammallahti at the Finnish Museum of Photography. Can't find words to describe how powerful and expressive a b&w photo can be. I suppose most Finnish blippers have already seen it but if not, it's definitely worth visiting the Kaapelitehdas (the cable factory). Don't miss it!
