Balvaird

Where we are in Perthshire we're kinda spoilt for castles. However this one is not one we'd been to before.

Balvaird Castle dates back to around 1500 and is a bit out of the way but well worth a visit. We did have to trek across a snowy field and icy track to get there, so I think we'll wait 'til the spring before we go back.

Breagha didn't get on this walk, however, as this morning when she was out on the golf course with Mrs T, she rolled in something. Something not very nice. Something so bad that after two washes she was still stinking! I'm afraid taking her out in the car in that state was out of the question.

After the castle we popped over to Pillars of Hercules farm shop and café, for warming coffees and hot chocolates. Lovely.
