Sproutless ..

No sprouts for us out here. Today we finished the 9 day Grande Circuit around the Torres Del Paine national park and arrived back in time for a quick call home to wish our folks Merry Christmas. Today was a fairly easy 4.5 hr trek but the heat made it fairly hard going. We spotted the hostel just after a sign saying we had one hour to go. I got a proper spurt on and we did it in 35 mins. Highlight of the day was crossing a raging river with just a single strand of wire strung between some rotten looking posts to cling to, to stop you toppling into the icy cold water! The trekking party we have been leapfrogging all the way round were spectating on the opposite bank but we disappointed and made it with only slightly soggy sock tops!

Tonight we treated ourselves to steak and chips and beer at the hotel at the entrance to the park. No turkey or sprouts unfortunately :0( Made a fantastic change to packets of rice and pasta cooked over a camping stove!!
