A sign that the festivities are over
Other than the christmas tree and decorations being taken down and packed away there is no clearer sign that it's nearly time to go back to work than an empty trifle bowl. It is one of my favourite desserts but not something I make often on account of it not lasting very long, try to limit to christmas and new year. My favourite blend at the moment is to use mango and pear for the fruit, soak the sponges in Amaretto, pineapple jelly then a thick layer of custard before topping off with whipped cream. Delish, but back to yoghurts now.
