Serenity and Warmth

We usually spend the week after Christmas here at the island, but this year we got here on the 2nd and it feels SO GOOD. :-) I couldn't decide whether to go for the serenity of the spot (view off the cabin deck into the sunny day) or the warmth of the tulikivi stove so went for both. The tulikivi stove was the very first thing we purchased for the cabin when it was still just a dream on our heads- it's Finnish soapstone (actually the stone is from W. Virginia, in the U.S.) and only requires 2 fires a day to heat the 1050 Sq Ft cabin - it's very efficient and toasty. It does take a day to warm the tall space however so we are still bundled up. (and happy!)
