The Philosopher's Wife

We're in Boston for a few days for a Philosophy conference (what, isn't a conference at the holidays the BEST IDEA EVER? Especially in the northeastern US in an expensive city??). Ahem.

So we're in Boston, which is a wonderful - albeit freezing cold - place to visit.

This is the front of the Boston Public Library. I love the statues and the lady who was waiting for her ride or something... she was very very chic. Especially in comparison to the lady who is 8 months pregnant and wearing giant, heavy snow boots and a winter coat that's 10 years old and barely buttons.

Anyway, we actually took a tour of the original building which I highly recommend since it was very interesting and also free. There is marble EVERYWHERE inside and beautiful murals and statues... hard to believe it was mostly paid for with public funds.

Ah, the 1840s.
