Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

A Do Nothing Day

Our friend Deb, the creator of fabulous soap and other lovelies, sent us a little book, Captivating Couples: Celebrating Love on the Silver Screen. The book arrived a few days ago, so after church this morning we came home and got into our snuggie clothes, lit the candles, lit the fireplace, and started reading the little chapters to each other.

The stories are about dozens of classic love movies and the greatest love scenes from famous movies. After reading several of them, we were discussing the movies we have on DVD and even video and quickly Mr. Fun was looking for one particular movie. When he couldn't find it, gosh we only had a dozen or more other fabulous choices of romantic movies to watch.

So we've spent the afternoon watching Sleepless in Seattle, watching the rain drops dance on the surface of the backyard pool, watching the candles, and watching the fireplace. We have thoroughly enjoyed having an afternoon/evening with no papers to grade, no classes to prep for, and no required books to read, no commitments.

January is winter session at the college and I will not be teaching. A week from now we'll meet my sister at the coast. She'll be driving down from Portland, Oregon. So January is shaping-up to be a lovely stretch of refreshing leisure days. Certainly I have plenty of tasks to accomplish, I hope to do those little by little through the days of this first month.

And I apologize that I haven't commented much the past couple days. I am just enjoying my time with Mr. Fun; the two of us are enjoying little Chloe so much. She has been with us one week now.

So, I'll get back in the blip groove soon. Until then, Happy Happy New Year everyone.

Good night from a rainy cold Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun, and Chloe), aka Carol
