Waiting for the phone to ring
Waiting to hear a mistake has been made
Waiting for a miracle

Alas, a mistake had not been made. Dixie has Atypical Addison's Disease which basically means that Dixie's pituitary gland fails to stimulate the adrenals with adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH). It has made her very ill.

She has been taking prednisolone since Thursday. She will need to take it the rest of her life. She already seems a lot better but gets exhausted really easily. But it is so wonderful to see that doggy smile again.

This photo was taken the night we found out definitively that she had Addison's. We were both a bit depressed.

Even ill, I think she is the most beautiful dog in the world. I might be slightly biased...
