"Tapestry" moth

Found this one in the bathroom last night and safed it in a plastic container so I can blip it today with better light.

Never seen one like this before... now it's gone somewhere, free to make more of it's kind :-)

What is the difference between a moth and a butterfly anyway, and what is this?
