Ruth

When I was out Christmas shopping on the 24th I was just leaving Fopp when I did a double take. Standing next to one of the racks were two friend Ruth and Andy who had moved down south almost 8 years ago and we had lost contact with. We always wanted to try and get back in touch but never had a means to, so it was quite a surprise to see them after so long. I don't suppose it should have been as they have plenty of friends and family up here.

It was great to catch up and we swapped numbers and invited them out for tea last night. as they were only up for a couple of days they were struggling to manage that so the plan was to meet for lunch today. Unfortunately Andy had come down with a stomach bug so he didn't make it but Ruth met us.

We were going to have lunch at Meadowood but it was shut for the holidays so we nipped round the corner to Izzi instead. The food was lovely but the portions were a bit large for lunchtime. The idea was that I'd pay, but another mutual friend Dave who had come for lunch as well insisted on paying.

It was brilliant to catch up and hopefully we'll manage to keep in touch this time.
