St George, Victory and Peace

The War Memorial at the gates of Colchester Castle Park stands as a fitting reminder of those lost in the 'Great War', 'World War II' and 'as a result of terrorist action'.

A sculpture some 11 feet tall of Victory stands atop the memorial, with Peace to the left and St George to the right, both at 7 feet tall.

We visited the park this afternoon, for cycling practice and play at the Children's play area.

I'm a bit annoyed that I didn't manage to get the whole of the plinth into shot, but that would have meant standing in the middle of the high street!!
