Foam
Plenty foam in the pumping station of units EC 3-7.
This is because we have to circulate the cooling water because otherwise it gets too low in temperature.
Seawater can be below 0 deg. Centigrade (32F) but that causes the efficiency of the units to decrease.
So we extract a certain amount of water at the outlet of the unit and bring it back to the inlet.
Because of the appearance of protein in the seawater the water starts to form foam when it is heavily mixed and stirred.
Together with sand and mud it gives a lot of problems.
It happens that when you open a door at the filterroom of EC 20 a massive pile of foam comes out.

We are now investigating for a new way of eliminating the foam because our present methods are not working good enough.
