Making Their Mark
I blame it on gladders! He suggested that I get out and about and do more local history themed blips.
When we do local history tours round the village we always stop and show people this gable end. Quite apart from the "tumbled-in" brickwork, it has the metal initials of the person who had the house built. They are attached to the ends of the timberwork of the roof, serving a practical and an ornamental purpose.
They provide a good example of someone leaving their mark for future generations to see.
