amelie's first christmas

We had a lovely day today. Amelie woke up at 6.30 but we stayed in bed until 7. I got up and gave her breakfast and Chris drove down to pick up my Gran and bring her up so she could join us for the great present opening. Once everybody was ready and assembled we began opening presents; 2 and a half hours later Amelie finally finished opening her presents. She wasn't too interesting in opening anything really though and actually cried when we pulled the night garden skittles out of the first parcel but once she was over that she showed interest in everything we opened for her.

Her presents included;

A push along labrador (we named him Boo)
A pull along Steiff bear from Uncle Donald (who is still in Afghanistan sadly)

A Makka Pakka toy that makes noises
A Wooden Turtle Drum
A Wooden Activity Cube
Many many many...many books

Percussion join together toy
Wooden Stacker
An Elmer Nightlight

Wooden Puzzles (5!)
A huge pile of clothes (some 9-12, some 12-18)
Two hats
A huge pile of tights (I have never seen so many tights)
A rag doll (everytime Amelie picks her up she calls her Ningning, so thats her name!)

We were going to give her Christmas dinner to pick at whilst we ate but it was a bit later than planned and she was really hungry and grumpy so we liquidised everything for her and she wolfed it down.

She was more than ready for her bed at 7 o clock and we were ready for ours by 7.30!
