The Beautiful Barcelona Pavilion

I love this building so much that I had a tough time picking a blip for this day. This was the birth of modern architecture by Mies Van Der Rohe. The pavilion was designed and built for an expo in 1929 and was so overlooked that it was knocked down and only rebuilt in the late 50's when it's historic value became clear.

This is a detail of the wonderful stone that clads the walls of this small glass house. Beautiful.
