Shades of Winter
After yesterday's beautiful day, we are plunged back into the strange gloom of a Florida winter, that can't quite make up it's mind what to do. The last time I photographed these leaves, they looked like this. I am surprised they are still on the tree; normally by now, my small fig trees are no more than branches, sticking bare armed out of the earth. Now they are festooned with parchment twists of foliage, frozen and preserved by the early frosts, before they could fall.
