Rio Beach Packing
An overcast but very humid day comes to an end in Ipanema, and the beach is being packed for the night. The guys usually have a beer at the kiosks on the front when their job is done...and they work up quite a lather carting everything up to the road, loading it into clapped out stationwagons before driving home to somewhere near or in the favelas.
We arrived back in Rio today from Sao Paulo, and it's easy to grasp the difference in character after just a few minutes; laid back versus serious sums it up, although the Paulistas would shout in outrage at this and point to their own fun loving side, which is undoubtedly there but just not as developed as that of the Cariocas!
Hopefully, we will get some sun for the last week! We're not great beach people, but want to have at least a half day on the sunbeds, enjoying the show!
