Beijing Ancient Observatory

This photo was sent to me by Pan, a fellow postcrosser.

The observatory was built in 1442 in the Ming Dynasty, it's roughly 14 metres high with 8 astronomical instruments (they don't all fit in this photo!)

Receiving this photo and all the buzz that's surrounding BBC Stargazing has really got me excited about getting outside and taking more Astronomy photos. Sadly I will have to wait until this miserable weather passes!
