This is the sight that greets you if you arrive in Warrington by main line train.
In the past, Warrington was known for soap, beer, wire and glass.
Crosfields are still going as Unilever, only one large brewery remains (Burtonwood) but we have Coach House, a small brewery making excellent beers. The wire works, Stirling Cables, Rylands, Robertsons are no more. The glass (Robinsons) went long ago.
