The devil & the deep blue sea

Which is an interesting phrase all on its own. These are two of the most evil foodstuffs on the planet in my opinion. Nothing could persuade me to partake of either of them. What I find odd is that I know very few people who can take them or leave them. People seem to loathe them (like me) or love them (like my husband) - which leads me to wondering if that makes us fundamentally incompatible.
