The art of waiting
Back to work, and a quick 2-and-a-half hours on the M8. Unfortunately, I learned that the road was shut at J5 just after I passed J4. Thankfully, the delay was only short lived (in comparison to early december), and I was soon slowly under way again via Shotts and Newhouse.
I am told that it was black ice that was causing the problem. The Police declared that the road was completely undriveable. I guess they had to, as one of their own cars crashed too... There will presumably be a few people after that in writing to send off to their insurance companies!
Anyway, despite the minor delay in starting back at work, the day went off okay. I'm starting the process of catching up again after a holiday of getting behind with things once more. But I am certainly hanging on to the the relaxed state of mind that the time off cultured in me.
And on a completely different note, here is another quote from Daniel Coyle in his book The Talent Code:
"...the greatest work of art anyone can construct [is] the architecture of their own talent..."
I wasn't sure that I agreed at first. It seems very self centred. But then I thought: "Well, what is a work of art if it is not shared with others?"... So maybe I can agree after all. We are all artists if we seek to be the best we were made to be, and our art has value when we dare to share it.
