Decay

This former 19 centuary warehouse stands on the River Ouse in the centre of York. By the 1980's it had been turned into a bar and restaurant but after that venture closed it was left to fall into disrepair, despite it's excellent location.

The Grade 2 building was further damaged when the river flooded and in 2004 it was occupied by the York Peace Collective.

Things took a positive turn in 2007 when the building was acquired by a developer who planned to build between 8 to 10 luxury apartments on the upper floors which he hoped would be occupied by 2009.

Almost four years later it appears that very little to have been done to convert the building though some work may have been done to protect it from the elements and further deterioration. In the current economic climate it may be some time before this fine building is fully restored.
