Kat's eye view

lived floor: home

I remember this floor when it was newly sanded.
There was nothing in this room and I could cycle forever round and round on my tricycle. It had red wheels.
Sound echoed empty off the walls. I wore a hat and a scarf tied tight around my neck; my arms felt stiff in my winter coat. My breath puffed out in a cloud in the time before, before central heating and double glazing.
Cold winter light bounced through the high windows. My wheels were red.
The world was bigger then.
