this is the 1949 novella by israeli wirter S Yizhar ,a modern Hebrew masterpiece ,out in feb from granta ,it sold well on its release as thousand of israeli's rushed to read it ,David grossman callled him a litarary genius praised indeed Grossman wrote To the end of the land welll received last year I enjoyed it ,this book seems a fitting companion as it marks the start of the conflict with palenstine ,as it follow the expulsion of a palenstine village by the israeli army.Many thanks to Henry who sent it me a friend on twitter
