Point Village
Yet another eventless day to add to the Christmas collection. Only got out and about around 4.30. Headed over to Carl's place to offer tea and sympathy since he was languishing in his traditional this-time-of-the-year cold. Got frozen pizzas to save the bother of cooking. On the way I passed the Point Village, which has all the marks of being the quickest build of anything in Docklands. The Point Theatre is now only a shell, with steelwork sprouting out of it which looks as if its reincarnation will be bigger and better than before, while the surrounding office, apartment and retail blocks are springing up at a pace which is rare indeed. It'll be interesting to see what the takeup of space will be and how successful the whole thing will be. It's hard not to wonder if developments which are now under way will end up vacant or at least only partially let because of the property downturn.
Anyway, we spent a pleasant evening, including a double bill in Carl's Kino -- The Host (excellent Korean scary movie) and, the perfect antidote, Kind Hearts and Coronets.
