Fat bird

The return of the white stuff to Glasgow this weekend heralded the return of the fat bird (a fieldfare) which visits our garden and gorges itself on manky frozen apples, even when fresh food is put out specially. Not that we begrudge making the effort or anything. Anyway, it is a beautiful bird, even when it's involved in wars over territory with the resident blackbirds, who also have a penchant for manky frozen apples.

This picture was taken through the kitchen window using the new lens we got delivered yesterday - a 75-300, which is great and was bought with Christmas money! Here's hoping it helps our camera skill development ...
