forgotten fruit

So, the decorations are all down (albeit a few days late) and Christmas seems like it never happened. One final reminder of the festive season that came and went too soon is a bag of cranberries found lurking in the salad drawer in the fridge. I didn't buy them, I just 'acquired' them, with the intention of making real cranberry sauce. But since that requirement is long past, I am now stuck with a bag of forgotten fruit.

I got rid of a cupful in an experimental cake, which actually turned out to be rather nice - Cranberry muffin streusel cake. Spicy, tasty and just festive enough for those not wanting to let go of Christmas, like me.
