De La Warr
This is the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill on Sea, UK. (South coast near Hastings)
"Commissioned by the 9th Earl De La Warr in 1935 and designed by architects Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff, the De La Warr Pavilion was the UK?s first public building built in the Modernist style."
It felt very 'Bauhaus' - some beautiful features and definately followed the 'form and function' ideal of Gropius (who I like to think was heavily influenced by our own Willian Morris).
Really incredible building to find on the south coast of England and a great day out :)
Next - Dungeness.... maybe :)
