Autorretrato

After a 20 year break I've taken up violin and have been practising daily for the past couple of months. My teacher has explained how to practise properly; when I was a kid I would race through the pieces as quickly as possible between TV and paper round... now I have to play really really sloooowly and repeat tiny bits over and over and over. Quite painful but much more effective and a good lesson in being present and patient. My neighbour left a note on my door two days ago saying that she's enjoying the sound coming through. Wonder if she's referring to the Isaac Stern and Maxim Vengerov CDs I'm playing while I'm doing the ironing ?! :)
