I had my visit from EQC (The Earthquake and War Commission) today.

I feel relieved.

I still feel scared by the bucking crust beneath us.

I feel grateful.

Damage yes, but nothing structural. Now the paperwork to follow to work out costings and either a payout to sort it myself or Fletcher's Construction will project manage it.

Significantly my block work is fine. The exterior maintenance and paint job can proceed. I can play with my test pots and decide colours :-) I can have a slice of normal.

Bright news for me. So many others have significant damage to land and home. Some are friends. I am fortunate indeed.
