Space bug

Our first attempt at Meccano....
For an hour, or so, the world withdrew, there were only nuts and bolts, metal strips, a sheet of instructions and a small hand clutching a tiny spanner and passing me the relevant bits. The phone may have rung, the world may have ended; we didn't notice.
