and hold

It was almost like festival-time today with all the extra tourists around; after three months of pitiful business several full-except-for-the-open-air-bit tour buses went past, the background noise in a coffeeshop was distinctly more southern-accented than usual and the lawnmarket and castle esplanade were positively bustling with people taking pictures of the nice misty castle. I suppose the means of travel by which they arrive for the various hogmanay bashes might not be operative again until tomorrow or even the third and that a few might stick around for a few days after the main event.

Unfortunately the travel-disruption also means that the only other person at work tomorrow who is scheduled to run the morning reports with me can't get into the office until early afternoon using public transport so there's no chance of me being off sick if my nose and throat deteriorate overnight. They're far more likely to deteriorate over the course of the working day if the office is its usual excessively warm and dry-aired self.

PFFFF.

HAPPY(Gregorian)NEWYEAR to all.
