Just off Princes Street

is a small alley way leading down past the back of St John's.

I rather like reading the inscriptions. This one was set into the wall.

"In memory of Mungo Brown, Advocate born 18th December 1793, died 17th November 1832.

Erected by personal friends in testament of the reverence for the memory of one whose gentle temper, simplicity of character and kindness of heart endeared him to the the society which he adorned with his talents"
