Bittern

In our first birdwatching life (pre-children) we lived in Hoddesdon and the Bittern Viewpoint at Fishers Green in the Lee Valley Regional Park was fairly close by. We visited it on many occasions, but never saw a Bittern. Yesterday we met a group at Amwell that had seen one that day and reckoned it was showing regularly so we decided to go down there today for old times' sake.

After about quarter of an hour we were not disappointed as this guy wandered out right in front of us and performed a perfect can-can routine - Normal inane drivel has been resumed!
