Tolbooth Clock 1884@1312
You've got to remember to look UP when walking around the Old Town ...
Canongate Tolbooth. The building has served various purposes through the ages: Collecting tolls from travellers through Canongate burgh (obviously!), council chamber, police court, prison. The tower was built in 1591,with a large clock added later, dated 1884, sticking out over the street on scrolled wrought-iron brackets.
