Authorized or not, it's still vandalism

This is what is left of some of the lovely mature bushes and shrubs along the fence-line between our townhouse complex and the park/yard behind us. Men came around today and cut EVERYTHING down and left a bloody mess for us to look at. Whether it was the school or the town, somebody is getting an earful tomorrow! The men said they were to cut down the hawthorns because the could injure a child. First, there was only one or two hawthorns. The rest were an assortment of shrubs. Second, children are not supposed to be way back in the yard because it's the town's park. Moreover, there are a hundred ways for children to get injured by nature. Mowing everything down is not a solution. This school likes to thin of itself as "green" but how green is it to destroy all your greenery? What lesson is that giving the children. Damn, I'm angry! These bushes were full of birds chirping and singing and hiding from the hawks and owls. Squirrels, too. Now they are vulnerable. GRRRRRR!!!!
