Say hello to Dylan, the newest member of our family. He shares a birthday with his grandpa, my dad, who can hardly contain himself at this one-of-a-kind birthday present.

I'm a bit raw at the moment. I'm tired, yes, because it was a long night, but a good night, a profoundly moving night. I couldn't have asked for a better birthing experience. I'll say more about it another time, but suffice it to say I'm in awe of the experience that is bringing a new life into this world, and the way one's heart can expand in immeasurable ways when a tiny little being grasps your finger or suckles at your breast or coos contentedly in your arms.
